Department of Curriculum and Instruction
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announces a full time tenure track position in the area of Business/Marketing Education. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, advising, conducting educational research, supervision of field experiences in business/marketing education, coordination of the business/marketing education licensure program, scholarship, and service. Possible graduate and undergraduate courses to be taught include: Methods of Teaching Basic Business Subjects; Introduction to Business and Marketing Education; Information Systems for Business Teachers; Principles of Career and Technical Education.
All faculty at UW-Whitewater may be required to teach online and hybrid courses, weekend and/or evening classes, and provide service to the university and local community in a variety of modalities, including leading Learning Communities, mentoring students, and providing professional development opportunities for colleagues, schools, and community groups. The position starts August 2013.
Required Qualifications: An earned doctorate (or defense completed by start date) in curriculum and instruction, educational administration or a closely related field. A minimum of three years teaching experience in business education or business and marketing education at the middle-school or high-school level. Evidence of scholarly productivity or a well-developed research agenda.
Preferred Qualifications: Possess teaching experience at the university level as well as teaching experience in both business and marketing education.
