The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UW-W) invites applications for the Director of the Center for Global Education. The University seeks a highly motivated and energetic individual to provide leadership for the campus’ vision for global education.
The University is strongly committed to promoting internationalization across campus and to providing support to the Center for Global Education (CGE). Currently, the CGE supports 25 exchange agreements and approximately 165 Whitewater students participate in a wide variety of study-abroad programs each year. Annually, an average of 150 students participate in faculty-led international short-term travel studies. The CGE also supports international faculty and the 225 international students enrolled at UW-W each year.
Location: Located in southeast Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is a comprehensive university in the University of Wisconsin System. Established in 1868, the University has approximately 11,400 students enrolled in 46 undergraduate and 13 graduate degree programs. Located in a community of 14,450 near the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest, Whitewater is within convenient driving distance to the metropolitan areas of Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago.
Position Summary: The Director of the Center for Global Education is charged with providing university-wide vision and leadership in the design and implementation of a campus-wide internationalization plan. The Director collaborates with stakeholders to help articulate a strategic plan for ensuring best practices in the integration of international perspectives, knowledge, and activities in a commitment to global engagement.
The Director reports to the Provost and is responsible for the coordination of all CGE programs. The director supervises five staff members and provides oversight of international study abroad and exchange agreements, international student and faculty immigration matters, and faculty led travel studies. The Director represents the University in government-related international matters and on the University of Wisconsin System Council on International Education.

Minimum Qualifications: Three years of progressively responsible experience in international education including developing, directing and administering programs and services, as well budgetary and supervisory experience. A Master’s Degree is required. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated leadership and commitment to diversity. Experience living abroad or extensive travel abroad is preferred.
