College Technology Coordinator and Director of the Arts Media Center

POSITION: The University of Wisconsin at Whitewater College of Arts and Communication announces a full-time 12-month position for College Technology Coordinator and Director of the Arts Media Center beginning September 3, 2013. Position duties include overseeing the Arts Media Center including the hiring, training, and supervision of student workers in the Arts Media Center and of the Music Department sound reinforcement and recording engineers, working with Andersen Library to facilitate and coordinate the College’s music and media subscription services (Naxos, Dram, etc.), managing and maintaining music technology equipment, coordinating cataloguing of Music Department recordings, and managing AMC budget allocation and assisting with budget preparation process (50%). Coordinate the College’s labs, lecture halls, and classroom technology, train faculty in the use of computer technology in the labs, lecture halls & classrooms, maintain an inventory of computer related equipment replacements and course-specific software, provide recommendations regarding the acquisition of new technology and coordinate acquisition of College technology equipment and assist Associate Dean and serve as liaison with Instructional Communication and Information Technology (iCIT) in the maintenance, development, and upgrading of instructional facilities (50%). QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include Bachelors degree and experience in music technology, audio technology, information technology or related fields required/Masters degree preferred. An understanding of, and experience working with, both PC and Mac platforms required, including application software and its integration with media technology Experience working with technology in a large organization preferred. Familiarity with music, graphic design and multimedia software required. Experience with the technical operation of audiovisual technology and its use in the classroom. Years of experience: 2 preferred.
