The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate level.
Full-time (nine-month) Tenure Track Faculty Position Description:
Scope of the position includes graduate and undergraduate teaching and advising, clinical supervision and establishing a research agenda. Specific teaching responsibilities may include one or more of the following areas: phonetics, linguistics, speech and language development, and assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders in children. Development of practicum experiences related to areas of instruction and the associated supervision on and/or off-campus will be required. All faculty at UW-Whitewater may be required to teach online and hybrid classes, weekend and/or evening classes, and provide service to the university and local community in a variety of modalities including leading Learning Communities, mentoring students, and providing professional development opportunities to colleagues, schools and community groups. Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to work with non-traditional students are essential to this position. A criminal background check is required for employment.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in speech-language pathology or related area. Applicants who are ABD will be considered with expectation that the doctorate will be completed within the first year of hire. In addition, ASHA certification in speech-language pathology and eligibility for Wisconsin state licensure are required.
Rank & Salary: Commensurate with experience.
