Director of Continuing Education

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of Continuing Education Services (CES). The Director of CES reports directly to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education, and works in close collaboration with faculty, staff, and external vendors, leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of all aspects of non-credit programming.  CES serve more than 15,000 camp and conference attendees annually. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
•Lead campus-wide efforts in identifying, planning, developing, marketing, delivering and evaluating the impact of programming that address outreach needs and opportunities among regional constituencies and their communities.
•Manage, and mentor when appropriate, academic and classified staff, part-time and seasonal employees, and student workers supportive of all aspects of non-credit programming.
•Oversee all budgeting, direct effective cost recovery delivery, as well as engage in and foster entrepreneurial approaches to non-credit programming.
•Direct the development, implementation, and oversight of all policies, assuring compliance with federal, state, UW System and campus guidelines and procedures.
•Other duties as assigned by the strategic leadership of the campus and the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.

Qualifications:
•Minimum of a master’s degree, preferably with a focus in adult learning, community education, or related fields.
•Experience with the design, development, delivery, management, and evaluation of self-supporting programs and events. 
•Evidence of providing strategic direction and leadership, with strong entrepreneurial tendencies.
•Proactive with proven ability to build relationships, cultivate internal and external partnerships, and engage in effective decision-making. 
•Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to equal opportunity, affirmative action and diversity.
•Demonstrated record of managerial, budgetary, organizational, administrative and interpersonal prowess. 
•Evidence of strong attention to detail, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
