The College of Education and Professional Studies (COEPS) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announces a full time, non-teaching academic staff position for a Director of the Office of Field Experience.  The Director of the Office of Field Experience shall serve in a general capacity to maintain all field-related services in the College, reporting directly to the Assistant Dean. This position will be served well by an individual who is highly adaptive and innovative and who will thrive in a dynamic, changing work environment.

General responsibilities include directing the Office of Field Experience; supervising the Office of Field Experience staff and student workers; cultivating, coordinating and communicating field, clinical, and student teaching placements to students, faculty, and school/agency personnel; serve as liaison to field/clinical supervisors and to the greater education community; assist with data collection and institution, state and federal reporting (e.g. Title II, NCATE); and assure compliance with all Wisconsin administrative code (currently PI 34) governing issues for teacher education. The Director of Field Experience will work collaboratively with colleagues in a team-based effort to ensure seamless, quality service to students, faculty, and the broader community in the professional preparation of students. Experience with diverse populations, expertise in relational database(s) and other technologies in the development and management of student records, and a global understanding are essential to this position. Local travel will be required.

Required Qualifications: A master’s degree in education administration or related field, three years of progressively responsible experience in school and/or university setting in developing and administering student-related programs.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful administrative or teaching experience in programs focused on teacher preparation in a school, district, and/or a university setting; demonstrated knowledge of teacher education, of administration and supervision, and of the role of higher education in preparing professional educators; demonstrated knowledge and use of relational database(s) (e.g. Access, Filemaker Pro). Special consideration will be given to applicants who have a commitment to advancing a diverse, technology-driven, and globally focused work environment.
