Faculty - Athletic Coaching Education

Full-time tenure-track faculty appointment



  • Earned doctorate in Athletic Coaching Education or related area
  • Record of teaching and coaching excellence
  • Record of professional and/or community service
  • Record of scholarly activity warranting appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater



  • A broad perspective on the field of athletic coaching education including familiarity and/or experience with the other academic programs in the department (Physical Education, Health, and Recreation).  
  • Minimum of one year of college/university teaching experience in Coaching Education.
  • Familiarity with NCATE and institutional audit and review.
  • Technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology in teaching and scholarship including experience using a web-based course management system.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and learning as evidenced by a presentation during the campus visit with students present.
  • Experience providing professional service within a college/university setting and/or to the community
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach Introduction to Coaching, Application of Mechanical Principles to Coaching, Conditioning of Interscholastic Sports, Psycho-Social Aspects of Coaching, and/or Organization and Administration of Interscholastic Athletics.
  • Ability to teach in related disciplines.

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Coaching Education. This individual must serve as the coordinator of the coaching minor and coaching field study as well as advise students in the coaching minor.
