UW-Whitewater Seeks an Instructional Design Specialist
Instructional, Communication and Information Technology (iCIT) has posted information for an open Instructional Design Specialist position, to join the Learning Technology Center (LTC) team. The major responsibilies of this position is to be a champion for the pedagocially-sound and effective use of technology for instruction, and be forward-looking and strategically minded regarding the implementation of future learning technologies. Primary activities include supporting instructors in course design and development, faculty training and development in the implementation of online/blended courses, consulting instructors on the effective use of technology in teaching and learning, and managing the online course quality assurance process.
•Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field is required, or equivalent years of experience in faculty technology support. PhD is preferred
• Experience in effective pedagogical application of technology to teaching and learning with a strong technology background in education.
•Ability to transform educational needs analysis into effective teaching materials.
•PC and Mac skills and familiarity with productivity software products, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
•Proficiency in instructional materials authoring software.
•Experience with web-based technology applicable in an instructional setting.
•Significant experience using learning management systems (Desire2Learn a plus)
•Training and/or teaching experience in a higher education environment
•Knowledge of educational assessment and evaluation methods.
•Experience in applying Quality Matters online/blended course design principles a plus.
