LTE University Services Program Associate

Experience with medical coding, knowledge and auditing of Medicaid reports and insurance billing is required. Knowledge of general office practices and past experience in medical clinic/ office/ public health is desired.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing program support to the Business Manager of Health Services. Duties for the Medicaid Family Planning Waiver Program (FPWP). Duties include coding FPWP patient visits in PyraMED, electronic billing on state EDS system, manual billing of medications (when necessary), and filing adjustments for payment / billing errors.
Office work will also include word processing, scheduling FPWP appointments, assisting students in completing FPWP applications, maintaining system of records of FPWP patients, assisting with supply acquisitions, mail processing and distribution, filing and general projects for the UHCS Business Manager or other assigned or delegated duties. Work at Health or Couseling Service reception desks during absences or as needed.

A. Provide office support for the Family Planning Waiver Program.
A1. Receive incoming calls related to FPWP program.
A2. Retrieve and delete messages from the voice mail system.
A3. Schedule appointments for students using PyraMED for student appointments to complete FPWP application
A4. Assist students to complete application for FPWP at designated appointment.
A5. Organize and maintain filing systems for FPWP applications and program participants
A6. Sort and process incoming mail related to FPWP.
A7. Send outgoing FPWP mail to enrollees / applicants, as received.
A8. Process FPFP Encounter forms in PyraMED.
A8. Process Medicaid FPWP claims via use of the state electronic data system (EDS)
A9. Process Medicaid FPFP claims via submission of DHFS forms for Non-Compound drugs
A10. Process Medicaid adjustments received from Business Manager to correct billing errors.
A11. Other duties, as assigned.

B. Provide office support to the Business Manager with general office operations related to the FPWP.
B1. Audit Medicaid Remittance and Status Reports (RSR) for payment of claims.
B2. Update Business Manager on the status of the RSR reports.
B3. Establish priorities to ensure that FPWP projects are completed accurately and in a timely manner for the Business Manager.
B4. Compose, complete word processing and distribute emails / correspondence, as related to FPWP and upon verbal instruction.
B5. Edit and prepare written documents & reports created by Business Manager related to FPWP.
B6. Assist in the development of office procedures; recommend policies, procedures and guidelines for the operation of FPWP.
B7. Other duties, as assigned.

C. General duties
C1. Assist Health or Counseling Service reception during staff shortage or absence, as directed which includes scheduling, patient check-in/out, electronic coding / billing, and other related reception / office duties, as needed.
C2. Attend general departmental meetings

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of medical coding and billing practices.
