Mathematics Education Tenure Track Faculty Position

Mathematics Department

Description:  The Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announces one tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics Education beginning August 23, 2014.  Responsibilities include teaching 12 undergraduate credits per semester in mathematics in support of the department’s programs, with primary responsibility for teaching content courses in the Elementary and Secondary Education Programs. In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of scholarly development, and to participate in service activities including (but not limited to) advising students, committee responsibilities, program assessment and curriculum development.  Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, continued scholarly activity and grant writing. Experience in using technology in the classroom is a plus.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in mathematics education or in mathematics with demonstrated interest in mathematics education is required. ABD’s with expected completion by August 20, 2014 will be considered.

The UW-Whitewater Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences offers a range of undergraduate programs in mathematics, computer science, and mathematics education. In addition, the department also lends support to a Media Arts and Game Development major. There are currently 37 faculty and academic staff in the department.
