Position: The Student Services Program Manager I/4 (Financial Aid Advisor) reports to the Director of Financial Aid. Primary responsibility is to counsel and advise students and families on the financial aid process, application procedures and regulations. Other responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting federal and state regulations; processing financial aid awards in accordance with federal, state and university regulations; administering various grant programs and the Funds for Wisconsin Scholars program; assisting with the verification of financial aid applications; re-evaluating and adjusting students’ financial aid using professional judgment based on special circumstances; serve as liaison between the Financial Aid Office and the WI Covenant Campus Coordinator; responding to office emails; processing of various reports; assisting with financial aid presentations on campus and at area high schools; attending financial aid conferences and workshops; processing AmeriCorps awards; other duties as assigned during peak periods.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel Services or a related area is preferred. Two to three years experience in financial aid administration is preferred. Sensitivity to student needs and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty, administrative and academic staff is needed. The ability to relate to the community and public is also essential. Experience with complex software applications is strongly preferred.
Rank & Salary: This position is a full-time annual academic staff position. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
