Accounting
DESCRIPTION: The Department of Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater anticipates a full-time, tenure-track position, subject to budgetary approval. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses, along with research/scholarly activities, advising, and service. Primary teaching areas include accounting information systems, auditing, financial accounting, or cost accounting as well as other accounting courses deemed necessary. Courses are taught in both traditional and online format.
POSITION AVAILABLE: Fall 2010.
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualification is an earned terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in accounting or a related area, although an ABD close to completion could be considered. Preferred qualifications include an established research agenda and a professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA or CMA) or a related field (e.g., CFM or CFA). Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses are pluses.
RANK: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on experience and research qualifications.
SALARY: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications.

Hyland Hall houses the instructional, academic support, community service, and economic development programs for the UW-Whitewater College of Business & Economics, the Kachel Center for Innovation, International Studies, and the Department of Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health.
UW-Whitewater has exceptionally active student organizations in Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), and National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). These nationally recognized groups receive strong support from public accounting and industry, including exposure to "real-life" business situations. Most accounting majors complete an internship before graduation.
