Associate Dean

College of Education

Position: The College seeks an energetic, innovative educational leader to work in a highly collaborative environment with a shared purpose and vision. This position reports directly to and assists the Dean in all aspects of the operation of the College.  The Associate Dean will be primarily responsible for all curricular matters, supporting our focus on curricular innovations and improvement, assessment and faculty development.  The Associate Dean will also be responsible for maintaining the College’s multiple accreditations including the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). 

Qualifications: The Associate Dean will hold a terminal degree and have demonstrated experience as a teacher/scholar qualifying the candidate for tenure and appointment at the rank of associate or full professor in one of the departments within the College.  Applicants should also provide evidence of:

• Academic leadership, including innovative ideas for bringing about systemic change in complex environments
• Goal setting and project management
• Experience with shared governance, assessment and strategic planning
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity and teaching diverse learners
• Excellence in teaching, scholarly/creative achievement and service
• Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with peers
• Experience in and understanding of PK12 educational settings
• Leadership experience with national accreditation processes (NCATE) preferred
