Qualifications: |
Master’s degree required. Five years experience in TRIO or academic support programs in higher education, non-profit entity, or public education required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Access and Excel, required. Experience in providing support for the administration and management of programs serving first generation, multicultural/economically disadvantaged (M/D) students desired. Life experiences similar to students to be served, research skills, and understanding of university structure highly desirable. |

Responsibilities: |
Administration of all aspects of the following: Educational Talent Search Program; Upward Bound Program; DPI funded summer residential academic camps. This includes being responsible for: supervision, development, training and evaluation of staff; fiscal management and development of program budgets; maintenance of a longitudinal database of 1,000 pre-college participants by cohort; maintenance of appropriate records of participants’ activities and eligibility; coordinating college transitional activities for prior pre-college participants; preparation and submittal of federal annual performance, campus annual, DPI, and other M/D reports; assistance in writing program proposals for Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search, DPI summer pre-college programs. The position requires extensive contact with school officials, the community, students, and parents during evenings as well as monthly Saturday programs. This entails fostering and developing relationships with personnel across campus and in the community including: principals, counselors, teachers, and other appropriate school personnel in targeted schools; professional organizations, community-based groups, student groups, and agencies interested in promoting the concept of equal educational opportunity. |
