The Department of Languages and Literatures at the University of Wisconsin-

Whitewater invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.  The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load of Freshmen English and upper-division courses in Drama with special emphasis on Introduction to Play Writing, Survey of Modern Drama, and Multicultural Drama.  The latter two courses are cross-listed in the Theater Department.  Research fields should complement existing faculty expertise and may include specialization in Shakespeare.  Requirements include demonstrated excellence in teaching, a commitment to undergraduate education, and clear evidence of scholarly potential.  Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff with diverse backgrounds is expected.

Starting Date:  August 22, 2010

 

Qualifications:

             

PhD (with demonstrable drama concentration) preferred, MFA (with a minimum of two years’ experience) considered.  Candidates must have a terminal degree by starting date. 

 

 

Rank:  Assistant Professor

 

 

Salary: Dependent upon academic preparation and teaching experience.
