There is a Plumber LTE vacancy in the Office of Residence Life. The work schedule for this temporary position is Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

The salary for this position is $42.584 per hour. The anticipated duration of this LTE position is approximately 6-8 weeks.

Position: Plumber
Department: Residence Life


85% A. Provide all plumbing required by state law on buildings operated by Residence Life
A1.Install drain lines per State of Wisconsin code.
A2.Install vents, stacks, drainage pipes.
A3.Repair faucets, valves, showers and related equipment.
A4.Install lead joints when required.
A5.Install portable water lines and related equipment.
A6.Install back flow preventors when required.
A7.Install closets, sinks and related equipment.
A8.Repair flush valves, vacuum breakers, etc.
A9.Repair soap dispensers and related equipment.
A10.Repair lead traps and replace defective piping.
A11.Repair/replace broken water mains on campus.
A12.Insulate water lines as needed.
A13.Inspect work done by others, such as mechanics and outside vendors.
A14.Clear blockages in drain and waste lines

10% B.Maintain working inventory of repair parts and tools needed for Plumbing.
B1.Maintain record of parts used.
B2.Keep records of changes in plumbing as related to remodeling projects.
B3.Recommend changes that are needed for safe operation related to Plumbing.

5% C.Perform related duties as deemed necessary for the plumbing operation.
C1.Instruct helpers on proper plumbing procedures.
C2.Make reports as required by supervisor.
C3.Work with other craftsmen when special requirements are needed.
C4.Work with city officials when problems arise, such as testing potable water, etc.
C5.Work with contractors on major remodeling or construction projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Ability to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs.
•Ability to lift 20 lbs. to shoulder height
•Able to use various plumbing hand and power tools
•Knowledge of Wisconsin State Plumbing code & Regulations
•Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license
•Wisconsin Journeyman (Wisconsin Department of Commerce) Plumbers License (Minimum)
