Educational Foundations
FTE: (Full Time Equivalent) 100%; Tenure Track
Rank: Assistant Professor. Associate possible (depending upon experience and accomplishments)
Duties: The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the psychological foundations of education. Courses taught will likely include some or all of the following: human development, educational psychology, classroom management, measurement and evaluation, research methods. Other duties include advising, research, and service.
Requirement qualifications: An earned PhD. in an area related to the teaching duties listed above. Evidence of an ability to be an excellent teacher, to work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, and to develop a focused program of research.
Desired qualifications: Successful college teaching experience, significant teaching and/or other work experience with children from diverse backgrounds in U.S. public schools, flexibility in teaching modalities (including face-to-face, hybrid, & totally on-line courses), willingness and ability to teach a wide range of courses, and evidence of an ability to provide curricular leadership. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and teaching diverse learners.
Environment: UW-Whitewater is a rural regional university located 50 miles southwest of Milwaukee and 50 southeast of Madison. Chicago is approximately 110 miles to the south east of Whitewater. Enrollment is approximately 10,000 students majoring within four colleges: Arts and Communication, Business & Economics, Education, and Letters and Sciences.
