INTRODUCTION:

The College of Education and Professional Studies, Office of Field Experience, currently has a University Services Associate 2 (USA2) vacancy, with the working title of Data & Special Programs Assistant.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $14.25 per hour plus excellent benefits. The starting rate of pay may be negotiable based on experience and available budget. The normal working hours for this position are 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.


JOB DUTIES:

This position is to support the operations of the Office of Field Experiences. The position requires internal and external communication, ability to understand departmental and college data, ability to use technology tools, and provide collaborative support for faculty, students, and staff.

40% A Provide program assistance to the Director of Field Experiences.
A1. Collect, process, and organize data sent to the Office of Field Experiences as it relates to student records (e.g., maintain student databases, assisting with dissemination of edTPA vouchers, etc.).
A2. Collect, process, and organize data sent to the Office of Field Experiences as it relates to assessment requirements (e.g., enter edTPA scores in WINS, Continuous Review Process, etc.).
A3. Collect, process, and organize data sent to the Office of Field Experiences as it relates to cooperating teachers (e.g., who and when they host, training, etc.).
A4. Provide additional program support as requested by the Director of Field Experiences.
A5. Assist with the cooperating teacher professional development grant process.

40% B Provide program assistance related to observation and participation.
B1. Disseminate information about the Pre-Professional Block Field Experience (e.g., Observation and Participation) program to UW-W students, faculty, and school district personnel.
B2. Prepare and process materials related to student placement.
B3. Maintain and update program records.
B4. Prepare letters and memoranda, and place and return telephone calls, as related to Program operations.
B5. Manage student criminal background checks and communicate results to the Director of Field Experiences.

10% C Provide program assistance as related to special projects.
C1. Provide assistance to the Office of Field Experiences maintaining the OFE website (e.g., assisting with the creation of fillable Adobe forms).
C2. Collect and prepare data related to monitoring experiences sponsored by the Office of Field Experiences.
C3. Annually collect and organize cooperating district diversity data.
C4. Serve as back-up to the OFE Program Associate: 

  • Clerical work related to placements
  • TERs
  • Background checks
  • Student workers
  • Budget
C5. Assist in the preparation of reports as needed.

10% D Provide program assistance related to international field experiences.
D1. Distribute and collect Student Teaching Abroad Application forms.
D2. Disseminate information regarding international field experiences to students, faculty, and administrators at UW-Whitewater.
D3. Provide support in communication between Office of Field Experiences and the Center for Global Education and other units as needed.
D4. Process and coordinate scholarships for teacher candidates who are student teaching abroad in collaboration with the COEPS scholarship coordinator.
D5. Other duties as assigned.
