Committee Descriptions
The Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate (FS) is the representative voice of the Faculty. Senators-at-large shall be elected from each rank by the faculty of that rank. Constituency-senators shall be elected from each constituency namely, 5 senators each from The College of Arts Communication/Library, The College of Business and Economic, The College of Education and Professional Studies, and The College of Letters and Sciences, and 1 senator from The College of Integrated Studies.
The Faculty Senate Executive Committee (FSEC) is elected from the memebers of the Faculty Senate, and this group sets the agenda for each meeting of the Faculty Senate. It is composed of one Senator from each constituency, two members elected at-large, plus the Senate Secretary and Chairperson.

Standing Faculty Committees

Two of the standing university-level faculty committees are "Committees of the Faculty". These committees make recommendations to the full Faculty. Members of these committees are elected from the faculty, with a representative from each college. These committees are:
Nine of the standing university-level faculty committees make recommendations to the Faculty Senate and carry on the work of the Faculty. Members of these committees are elected or appointed according to each committee's charge. These committees are:
- Faculty Budget Committee
- Faculty Compensation Committee
- Leadership Feedback Committee
- Textbook Rental Committee
- University Curriculum Committee (UCC)
- University Standards Committee
Eight of the standing university-level faculty committees send recommendations/decisions to relevant Administrative bodies (listed below) to facilitate Faculty involvment in institutional decision-making. Members of these committees are elected or appointed according to each committee's charge. These committees are:
- Academic Development Committee- recommendations go to the Provost
- Admissions and Academic Standards Committee- decisions go to the Office of Academic Standards, policy recommendations go to the Faculty Senate
- Assessment Committee- recommendations go to the Director of Assessment
- Audit and Review Committee- recommendations go to the Provost
- Campus Landscape and Planning Committee- recommendations go to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs
- Faculty Appeals, Grievances, and Disciplinary Hearings Committee- decisions go to the Chancellor, policy recommendations go to the Faculty Senate
- Intercollegiate Athletics Committee- recommendations go to the Chancellor or the Director of Athletics
- Library Advisory Committee- recommendations go to the Director of University Libraries
Three of the standing university-level faculty comittees are "Sub-Committees of the Faculty Senate" and make recommendations to the Faculty Senate. Members of these committees are elected by the Senate, but they do not have to be Senators. These committees are:
- Faculty External Affairs and Outreach Committee
- Faculty Personnel Rules Committee
- Faculty Service Award Committee

Ad hoc Faculty Senate Sub-Committees
Each year the Faculty Senate can charge an ad hoc committee to address a specific topic or issue. Those committees are documented here.

Faculty Appointees to Standing Administrative Committees
Administrative committees carry out the ongoing work of the UWW Administration, and faculty members are appointed to these committees to provide faculty perspectives and to report back to the Faculty Senate on the work of these committees.
