          nominations to University of Wisconsin System President
          Lyall for 18 UWW faculty as potential members for a
          Search and Screen Committee for a new UWW Chancellor

     (Note:    In selecting 18 nominees, the Senate is to help
               insure that the potential committee members
               collectively approximate the composition of our
               faculty–by constituency, rank, ethnic background,
               and gender.  President Lyall will choose nine
               faculty to join two academic staff members, two
               administrators (one from UW-Whitewater and one
               from UW-System administration), two students and
               two community members to make up the search and
               screen committee.  On December 10 the Chair is to
               report to President Lyall, providing for each
               nominee a maximum of one double-spaced typewritten
               page indicating the nominee’s name, faculty rank,
               and department, and outlining the nominee’s
               service experience.)

          Committee

     c.   Resolution on December 1998 Graduates: 

     The Faculty Senate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
     recommends to the University of Wisconsin System Board of
     Regents that the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students
     who have applied for graduation in December 1998 and who
     have been certified by the University Registrar to have met
     all academic requirements and completed all of their courses
     of study be granted their degrees at the December 1998
     commencement exercises.
