    1. Resolution regarding students' use of electronic devices in class (postponed from item 6.c. of the May 4, 2004 meeting): The Faculty Senate recognizes that electronic devices may be used inappropriately by students in the classroom. Unless specifically permitted by the instructor, all such portable equipment (including cell phones, audio/video recorders, PDAs) are to be turned off and put away during the class period, especially during examinations. The unauthorized use of any such technologies, including recording the contents of exams, text messaging to others within or outside the classroom, etc. may result in penalties authorized by the University's codes of misconduct.

      1. One faculty member to be chosen by Senators representating Arts and Communication from among faculty of Arts and Communication; new exp. will be 2007 (was Peter Conover)
      2. One faculty member to be chosen by Senators representating Education from among faculty of Education; new exp. will be 2007 (was Penny Portman) 
      3. One faculty member to be chosen by Senators representing "Other" from among faculty of "Other"; new esp. will be 2007 (was Barbara Bren)
