May 2006 "Graduation Resolution": Resolved that the Faculty Senate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater recommends to the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents that the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students who have applied for graduation in May 2006 and who have been certified by the University Registrar to have met all academic requirements and completed all of their courses of study be granted their degrees at the May 2006 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater commencement exercises.  Ahmadi/Habanek moved approval.  Passed.  FS0506-26

    1. Retirement Resolution(s): Victoria A. Topp, Reference Librarian and Assistant Professor of University Library; Bren/Weston moved approval.  Passed.  FS0506-27
    2. Resolution on the UWW Undergraduate Grading System: Albrechtsen/Kapp moved an amendment to strike the final and be it resolved clause referring to Registrar report at May, 2006 meeting.  Amendment Passed.  Whereas, the Chancellor of the University in consultation with the Faculty is responsible for establishing grading systems within the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (s36.09(3)(a) WI Stats. and the UWW Constitution of the Faculty [available at http://www.uww.edu/uwwhdbk/FacConstitution.htm]); and the current system of grading for undergraduate students consisting of five increments does not allow for sufficient specificity to reflect the students' command of the subject matter; be it resolved that the UW-Whitewater Faculty Senate calls for a change to the undergraduate grading system from the current system of five increments; and be it resolved represented by the letter designations A, B, C, D and F to one of twelve increments with the indicated point values: A (4.00), A- (3.67), B+ (3.33), B (3.00), B- (2.67), C+ (2.33), C (2.00), C- (1.67), D+ (1.33), D (1.00), D- (0.67), and F (0.00).   Epps/Ahmadi moved approval of main motion as amended.  Passed.  FS0506-28
    Adjournment:  Kapp/Habanek quorum call at 4:05 p.m. during discussion of agenda item 5.3.   Meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. due to lack of quorum.  Remaining agenda items not addressed.
