on FS0506-03 Postponed to the November meeting due
to the Provosts absence.

the preliminary discussions of the Executive Committee relative
to quorum problems and credibility.

Business
- Resolution
on contingency planning: Whereas the forces
of nature and acts of terror have the potential to adversely
affect the ability of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
to deliver classroom instruction on campus for prolonged periods
of time, and;
Whereas the core values of the University include the
commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, and the mission of the
University is to provide a range of undergraduate and graduate
education; and,
Whereas a significant loss of instructional time would
disrupt students' educations,
Be it resolved that under the guidance of the Provost
all faculty consider contingency plans for the continuation of
instruction to the extent feasible, and as appropriate for the
course content, through alternate means including but not limited
to the use of on-line and web-based platforms, the temporary
use of off campus facilities, telephone communications, audio
and video conferencing , and the US Postal Service in the event
of campus closure for a period of time greater than 48 contiguous
hours. Moved by Huang/Sawyer 9/12/06. After discussion,
Erdmann/Ahmadi moved to refer the resolution to a joint committee
of faculty and Academic Affairs for consideration and report
to the Senate at the December meeting. Motion passed.
- Appoint one faculty member to serve a
two (2) year term on the Sexual Assault Prevention Advisory Committee.
Andrea Musher elected on a Portman/Ossers motion of unanimous
consent.
- Senators
in the Business and Economics constituency are to indicate their
selection of one faculty member to the General Education Review
Committee (for the by-laws, please see http://www.uww.edu/uwwhdbk/committees/FC-GenEd.htm),
term to expire 2008 Postponed
due to lack of nominees.

Business:
- Elect three
members to Faculty Personnel Rules Committee: One from Business
and Economics, term to expire 2009 Postponed due to lack of a
nominee; one at-large, term to expire 2009, Zoreh Ghavamshahidi
elected; and one at large, term to expire 2008, Virginia Epps
elected.
- Appoint one representative of the Faculty
Senate to the Campus Landscape Planning Committee, term to expire
2008 (the continuing Faculty Senate representative is Manuel
Ossers, exp. 2007). Neil Sawyer elected.

out of the mainstream of student and faculty traffic that is
located primarily in the University Center;
Be it resolved that the University Bookstore, at least the non-textbook
rental portion, be moved to the remodeled University Center after
the completion of the scheduled construction; transmitted

- FS0607-05: approved the resolution on the deadline for adding a class: Resolved
that the add deadline be extended to the sixth day of fall/spring
full semester classes to allow students' opportunity to add one-day-a-week
