Certificate in the Transition
Specialist Program
The Graduate Certificate in the Transition Specialist Program is designed to prepare professionals with Bachelors Degrees in Education or related fields to faciltate successful school-to-work transition planning for individuals with disabilities.

Entrance Requirements:
A Bachelor's DegreeA minimum of 2.75 overall as an undergraduate
Applicants for this program must have taken SPECED-606: Career and Vocational Programming for Students with Disabilities or the equivalent.
Note: Credits earned in the Transitions Specialist Certificate Program may also count for the Master of Science in Education Degree Program in Special Education.
CERTIFICATE IN TRANSITION SPECIALIST PROGRAM:
The Certificate Program will require a minimum of 15 credits of the courses listed below. This is a tentative list of courses to be included in the program.
SPECED-703 PROMOTING REFORM THROUGH COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP
SPECED-706 VOCATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
SPECED-781 SCHOOL-TO-WORK TRANSITIONAL PROGRAMMING
SPECED-702 REFLECTIVE PRACTICE AND ACTION RESEARCH
SPECED-704 APPLIED FIELD ACTION RESEARCH IN SPECIAL EDUCATION
Completion of the capstone course, Applied Action Research in Special Education (SPECED-704), represents the final requirement for the Transition Specialist Certificate.
