Certificate in Teaching in Alternative Education Settings (TAES)

The TAES Program will assist licensed teachers and other professionals working with youth in recognizing and developing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to work in alternative educational settings. This on-line program consists of a sequence of four two-credit courses and a one-credit field-based experience. The program is designed so that participants can complete their program over one academic year or during the 12-week summer session.

Applicants for admission to this emphasis area must hold or be eligible for a regular teaching license in the State of Wisconsin for teaching in a public school. Exceptions to this policy may be made by the program coordinator on a case-by-case basis.*
