(Master of Science In Education)
The Master of Science in Education (M.S.E.) Degree is offered in Reading to prepare teachers to provide special services in reading at the elementary and secondary level, and to license students as reading teachers (316) and/or as reading specialists (317).
The curriculum is designed to develop an advanced understanding of philosophies, modes, and theories relevant to literacy development and its teaching in grades PreK-12. Students develop skills in selecting and administering a variety of authentic assessment instruments, interpreting results and planning and implementing strategies for improving the reading progress of students in elementary through secondary settings.
