Eligibility

There are a number of ways to enter the University Honors Program:

Automatic admittance from high school if you:

  • Are in the top 10% of your high school class AND earn an ACT composite score of 24
  • Are in the top 25% of your high school class AND earn an ACT composite score of 28
  • Meet a class rank OR ACT score requirement AND have a strong letter of recommendation from a teacher

To remain in good standing in the UHP, all members must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4.


Complete an application for admittance if you are a current UW-W student who:

  • Has completed at least 12 credits
  • Earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4.

Complete an application for admittance if you are a transfer student. If you have earned Honors credits at your previous institution and wish to claim those Honors credits, please note the residency requirement: beginning in Fall 2015, transfer students who have earned at least 12 Honors credits at their previous institution must complete a residency requirement of at least 9 Honors credits at UW-Whitewater. Transfer students entering the UHP with fewer than 12 Honors credits must complete enough Honors credits at UW-W to reach 21 Honors credits.
