System Fixes

Service Packs: Software has bugs, some of which affect security. As a result, there will always be the need for patches. Microsoft? releases patches to provide interim solutions to these security issues that arise. UW-Whitewater has the ablility to push these patches from Microsoft to your machine. These patches will be pushed periodically, especially when there is a security risk. The push takes place when you sign into Novell. Novell then uses the Microsoft? installer to install the patch on your machine. Your machine may reboot upon completion of the patch.

Viruses: If you suspect your machine may be infected by one of these viruses, please click on the fixer link and clean your machine. For more information about the current virus alerts, see McAfee B2B
