iCIT GUEST ACCOUNT REQUESTS
About Guest Access
A guest to UW-Whitewater is an individual visiting campus for a limited period of time who is provided limited access to campus resources as a matter of convenience. Those who have a contractual relationship with the University, or who require more comprehensive access to campus resources are not covered by this process.
Guests to UW-Whitewater may access the campus wireless network, General Access Lab computers and lab printing using a special guest account. All guests to UW-Whitewater network resources must abide by the UW-W Network Usage Policy and Guest Access Policy.
Guest Account Requests
Campus resources provided to guests
- WiFi access, restricted to a maximum of three concurrent devices
- Access to General Access Lab computers (includes printing)
Types of Guest Accounts
- Individual Guest Accounts are to be used when the guest names are known (examples are individual guest speakers, or committee meetings with a known attendee list, etc.)
- Bulk Accounts are to be used for providing network access to groups such as student camps, or hosted multi-day meetings. Unique guest accounts may be created for Bulk Account requests. Alternatively, a specially named wireless network (SSID) may be configured for large conferences for wireless only service. Either way, Bulk Accounts will be processed for pre-approved staff members only. If you wish to be pre-approved for setting up Bulk Accounts, contact the TSC Helpdesk.
