When to use Wired Access
Do not use wireless when a wired alternative is available, particularly if large file transfers or high-bandwidth multimedia applications are used.
As a general guideline, a location where a specific computing device will be frequently used or permanently located should be connected to the network via a "cabled" or "wired" LAN connection. This includes portable and non-portable computing devices. The installation of wireless access cards in desktop computers should be avoided.
