One-way Video and Two-way Audio
Courses or videoconferences transmitted via satellite can be a cost-effective way of providing education and training to a geographically-dispersed audience. UW-Whitewater can act as a host/downlink site for a variety of professional development opportunities that take the form of live interactive videoconferences.
Participants in live interactive videoconferences typically view the event on a television monitor or large projection screen at their local site, and use an 800 number, fax or a telephone bridge to call in questions. Wraparound activities (speakers, panel discussions, etc.) can also be planned at the local site to enhance the learning experience. Various campus facilities equipped with cable and phone jacks may be used as viewing sites for satellite delivered videoconferences.
