ROAD stands for 'Repository of Academic Documents'. This service is set up to facilitate the distribution of electronic documents to students for specific courses. Each teaching faculty may set up a ROAD account to store course documents for the semester. Students can access ROAD service easily via the web. The URL is http://road.uww.edu/. Each faculty directory is identified with the faculty's Net-ID.
The general space allocation for each instructor account is 100MB. Faculty can request for a ROAD account by going to the UW-Whitewater Email site (http://post.uww.edu) and using the Web and Storage Account Request form.
The account owner access the space via FTP, and has complete control over the organization of folders and files within the account space. It serves as a quick and convenient means to distribute instructional material such as Powerpoint, Word or Excel files for students to use. ROAD account files are NOT indexed on the campus search server or the internet and they are not password protected.
