Turning Technology RF Clicker/Receivers are very reliable devices. Signals are received within 200 feet with one receiver for up to 1000 students.
There are a number of ways to for users to be assured responses are recorded during the session.
(1) Students should see a green indicator light come on when they press a valid response. If the light is red or there is no light, their clicker is not working properly.
(2) In your Question Slide, you can put in visual elements to help students know responses are being received:
a. Insert a Response Counter
Object on your slide. This does not
tell you who answered, but will give you and students an idea of the total
number of responses received for the slide

b. Insert a Response Table –
Fixed or Rotating. Use sparingly.
This can be a good element to put in a starter slide for the presentation so
students are assured the presentation is working. It is not a practical thing
to do for every slide, especially if you have a big class.. Students will also
need to know their corresponding respondent # to see their own response.

c. Use the Information Bar – iBAR indicator on the top right corner of your screen.
The two options will tell you exactly who has responded or not for the particular
slide. It may show more information for you to disclose to the class at large. Use
at your own discretion and occasionally for diagnostic purposes only.

d. Your recorded session using your participant list. Always Save your recorded sessions – whether you will use the data or not. This can help you track whether responses are recorded properly and rectify the situation for the next session if not.
