Can I open Word documents in my D2L course if I don’t have Microsoft Word?

Yes. If students don’t have Word, they can download Open Office from openoffice.org, which is a free download. Students will save the Word docs to their desktop or hard drive. Then, instead of double-clicking the document to open it, students should right-click on the document they want to open, then move down the menu to Open With and choose Open Office.
