Checking Your Computer Specifications (Mac)

Before beginning an online course, you need to make sure that your computer meets the minimum recommended requirements. On a Mac running OS X, check your computer specifications as follows. Please note that the specifications shown in the images below are for example only and do not represent recommended specifications.

• Click the Apple icon at the far left of the top menu bar.
  
  
  
• Choose "About this Mac" from the menu.
  
  
• In the dialog that appears, click "More info..." Notice that this window also shows you the version of OS X you are running.
  
  
  
• The System Profiler window that appears will show you your machine type (G5, etc.), CPU speed, and amount of RAM. You can move down the menu to the left to Graphics/Displays to find information about your display resolution.
