Office 2007/Office 2008 for Mac
Office 2007/Office 2008 for MacMicrosoft Office 2007 for Windows/Office 2008 for Mac is now available on all campus computers and is the standard version supported by iCIT. Work-at-home media for Office 2007 & 2008 is available through the Helpdesk (Visit the Work at Home page for more information). Office 2007 features a “ribbon" of buttons and icons replacing the former menu and tool bar structure. While there is an initial learning curve to relocate functions, they are intuitively placed and quicker to access. New file formats with reduced file sizes (but require conversion to work with older versions). A conversion pack is available to install on campus workstations that will open Office 2007 documents using a previous version of Office.
Project Timeline for Office 2007 Deployment
- October 15 - February 28, 2008- Rollout to Campus Offices
- December 20 - January 16, 2008- Add Office 2007 to Labs and Classrooms
- March, 2008-Macs updated to Office 2008
