Video Surveillance
Project Overview
This project will provide the university with a centralized system for recording and system management of its video surveillance for safety and security. Different groups around campus will be able to request video surveillance if they feel a need exists. These requests will be evaluated by a governance group to ensure that requests are appropriate and acceptable.
Benefits
- Provides resources to groups that decide they need video surveillance
- Eliminates the needs of campus groups needing to research surveillance systems
- Appropriate cameras and other equipment can be purchased to meet needs in a cost effective manner.
Timeline
Summer 2008 is the final stage of choosing the system’s management software. Groups that are interested in planning for video surveillance should begin by contacting the Surveillance Camera Coordinator. Once the project is approved, contact with the iCIT Helpdesk will allow the project to proceed.
