Unified Desktop Management
The purpose of this project is to implement a standard set of tools and processes for managing workstations across all of campus. The outcome of this project will reduce duplication of efforts between lab and classroom computer management, office computer management, provide improved and automated processes to allow more efficient service, and create consistency among workstations on campus.
The new processes that will be implemented are based off the recommendations of the Workstation Lifecycle Management group's final report.
The unified desktop management will provide several key business benefits:
- Consistency among computers including management tools, software versions, and usability
- Improved service to customers
- More secure and stable operating systems
- Increased staff productivity by reduced duplication of effort
This project is currently in the analysis and planning stages. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
