UW-W Wireless Connection Instructions

Windows Vista

These instructions are for connecting to the UW-Whitewater network on Windows Vista.  You only have to go through the initial setup once as long as you use the same wireless network card on your computer.

  1. Open your Start menu and click on Network.
    Open your Start menu and click on Network
  2. You should now see a screen similar to the screen below. Click "This computer is not connected to a network. Click to connect…” Select "Connect to a network.” If that is not a choice, choose "Network and Sharing Center” and select Connect to a network from the menu on the left.

  3. You should now see a screen like the one below.  Highlight "uww-wifi" and click connect.

  4. Click on "Enter/select additional log on information.Screen with information on input5.

  5. Enter your UW-Whitewater campus user name and password in the appropriate blands.  Leave the logon domain field blank.  Then click "OK."

6.   You will get another screen like below.  Click "Enter/select additional logon information."

7. You will get prompted to accept a certificate as shown below.  Click "OK."

8.  You should then be connected to the wireless network.  If not, you may have entered your username and password incorrectly, so try again.
