How do I access my campus email?
One business day after your PREVIEW session, your Outlook Web Access (OWA) email account will be active and accessible. Students are strongly encouraged to use campus email, as instructors will require its use in their course and important campus announcements are sent via this system (also referred to as post.uww.edu). OWA is web-based, accessible from any Internet connection (on or off-campus), thus checking it frequently is virtually effortless and highly recommended!
To access campus email, open a web browser and directly link to OWA: https://post.uww.edu/ or open to the campus homepage, http://www.uww.edu, and select "Email" from the menu under the search box. To log in, enter your Net-ID and password at the prompt. The first-time you use your Net-ID, you will need to go to https://password.uww.edu to enter future challenge questions (in case you should ever forget your password) and to change your password according to our campus password policy. Your default/old password is your 7-digit ID number. Once you successfully change your password, your Net-ID and new password will be used for email, D2L, WINS, wireless, and Student Storage. Your email address is your Net-ID@uww.edu.
If you forget your password or need to have it reset, you can reset it at https://password.uww.edu. If you have difficulty, the Helpdesk is available to assist you. Please refer to the Helpdesk website for business hours and other useful information: http://helpdesk.uww.edu
How do I register for classes?
Scheduling for classes is done via the WINS Registration System. To schedule courses, open a web browser to the campus homepage, http://www.uww.edu, and select "WINS" from the top menu. To log in, enter your Net-ID and password at the prompt. You will be instructed on WINS during Plan-It Purple.
What computer considerations should I take into account before arriving on campus?
If you are purchasing a computer for student use at UWW, consider wireless-network capabilities in your purchasing decision. UWW offers wireless access to the campus network for students, staff, and faculty with wireless-equipped laptop computers and other devices.

Will I need to carry floppy/zip disks with me for document storage? Am I able to do personal web publishing?
UWW recommends using USB flash drives for portable student storage. Also, UWW students wishing to utilize web space for document storage or web publishing may do so via the UWW Student Storage website. This online space is designed to store personal files, web accessible media, and storage materials for designated academic departments. Student accounts are created by self request through https://post.uww.edu. Visit http://stustorage.uww.edu/ for further details.
