ELA Grades and Reports

ELA students must pass each course with a B-, or 80%, in order to continue to the next level. Students receive consistent, timely feedback on course progress. Students receive a midterm progress report and final progress report for each course. If a student is struggling with a course, the instructor will counsel the student in how to improve.

Certification of Completion
ELA students who fully meet the requirementsof the ELA program receive a Certificate of Completion.

Certification of Participation
ELA students receive a Certificate of Participation for each level in which they participate before successful completion of the program.

Maintaining Good Academic Standing

In order to remain in good academic standing, ELA students must maintain a B- average (80%) in coursework. Dropping below this average could result in being put on academic probation or dismissal from the ELA.  For further information on maintaining good academic standing, refer to the most recent course catalog, available from the Office of the Registrar.

UW-Whitewater Transcripts
All ELA courses are official course offerings of the Department of Languages and Literatures, of the College of Letters and Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Therefore, grades for ELA students are maintained by the Office of the Registrar. Students may print an unofficial copy of their transcript from their WINS account or request an official transcript from the Office of the Registrar.
