At UW Whitewater we value the diversity and unique experiences each international student brings to our campus. To help you achieve your dream of a degree from UW Whitewater we have several scholarships.


Freshman Merit

Amount: $2000 per year: $1000 in Fall and $1000 in Spring.

Eligibility:

  • Incoming freshmen starting in either Fall or Spring (exchange students, current students, US citizens and permanent residents are not eligible)
  • Citizens of countries other than US
  • Have an equivalent of a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Must be admitted by 1st of December for Spring and 15th of July for Fall
  • Not open to fully sponsored students
  • Must have submitted online application at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/

Application procedure: qualified applicants will be considered upon receipt of all required application materials

Renewable: up to 8 consecutive semesters (4 years). Recipients must maintain active F1 status, maintain 2.5 cumulative GPA at UWW and be involved in at least 3 intercultural programs or student organizations for each semester of eligibility.

  • Citizens of countries other than US
  • Have an equivalent of a cumulative high school GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Submit additional materials
  • Must be admitted by 1st of December for Spring and 1st of July for Fall
  • Not open to fully sponsored students
  • Must have submitted online application at https://apply.wisconsin.edu/

Application procedure: qualified applicants will be considered upon receipt of all required application materials

·         This referral is extended solely to EducationUSA advisors or REACs.

·         UWW degree-seeking on-campus undergraduate, graduate and English Language Academy applicants are eligible for the referral scholarship

·         This referral also applies to UWW at Rock County degree-seeking on-campus undergraduate applicants

·         Referral must be received via this form. Print outs and screen shots will not accepted

·         Referral must be received prior to an admission decision. Once a student is admitted, they are ineligible for the referral scholarship

·         $300 scholarship applied to the student’s account during their first semester at UW-Whitewater and UW-Whitewater at Rock County

·         Referred students cannot be currently or prior enrolled at UWW

·         This scholarship does not depend on the applicant’s GPA or test scores and the amount cannot be changed based on those

·         This scholarship is stackable with other international student scholarships at UW-Whitewater

·         You cannot refer yourself. The form must be submitted by EducationUSA advisors or REACs. Forms submitted by applicants themselves will not be accepted.

·         Referred students must have an admission application on file

·         Prospective student information must match the application exactly to facilitate applying the scholarship

·         This referral is only for international applicants. The following applicants are ineligible for this waiver:

o   US citizens

o   Permanent residents

o   Online students

o   Returning UWW students

o   Fully sponsored students

o   Part-time students (enrolled in below 12 credits)
