Sponsoring Visiting Scholars
The J Exchange Visitor Program was developed to implement the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act (Fulbright-Hayes Act) of 1961. The overall purpose is to increase the mutual understanding between countries though educational and cultural exchanges.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is currently authorized to host J Exchange Visitors in the following categories:
- Student Non-Degree
- Research Scholar
- Short Term Scholar
- Visiting Professor

Workshops for Departments
The CGE hosts a varity of immigration workshops for UW-Whitewater departments. Workshops for inviting visiting scholars can be scheduled by emailing Erika Cuevas at buchholzec24@uww.edu. In your email please indicate that you would like to have an Visiting Scholar Workshop along with possible dates and the number of expected attendees.
Visiting Scholar Orientation
Orientations for J Exchange Visitors are held the first and third Friday of every month from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Please bring the following documents to orientation:
- DS-2019
- Passport
- I-94 Card
