Degree Seeking Students

Undergraduate and Transfer Students

Undergraduate and Transfer students applying to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will need to go through the UW- Whitewater Admissions office and complete the following steps to be considered for admission:

Online application

Submit an application at and pay the non-refundable $50 application fee:

  • Submit application first and then send the supporting documents. That would facilitate the processing of all the materials.
  • Make sure your name on the application is the same as it appears in your passport
  • Make sure that the Permanent Home Address is your home country address even if you currently live in the US
  •  Your Mailing Address can be your US address if you have one
  •  If you do not have a Social Security Number (SSN), you can leave that field blank

Academic Records

Submit your academic records.

  • Each country has different requirements on completion of high school and undergraduate study. If you are not sure what to submit, contact us at
  •  Your admissibility can be defined from the scans of your academic record; however, we will not consider you for full admission and issue an I-20 until we receive official paper copies of the required documents.

o   For conditional admission consideration (we will not issue an I-20) you can send clear scans of your academic record to

o   If your academic record is not issued in English, we will require scan of the official English translation. We do not accept translations done by the applicants themselves.

  •  For full admission consideration you must sent the official paper copies of your academic records in a sealed envelope to Attn: International Admissions, 800 W Main St, Roseman Building, Office of Admissions, Whitewater, WI USA 53190

o   If your academic record is not issued in English, we will require physical copies of the official English translation in a sealed envelope. We do not accept translations done by the applicants themselves.

  • We also accept evaluations done by ECE, WES and China Credential Services.

English Language Scores

Submit a satisfactory score from our accepted scores list below

  • Our code at ETS for TOEFL submission is 1921
  • You can send a clear scan of your own copy of IELTS Test Report Form

SAT Evidence-Based Reading & Writing* 430

WESLI Completion of 700 level coursework (B or better) and  a letter of recommendation from an  adviser at WESLI

* Freshman applicants only

Applicants will be considered to have met English Language Requirement if they satisfy one of the conditions below:

  •  International freshman applicants who attended for at least 2 years and graduated from a US high school
  • International transfer applicants who have taken at least 12 transferrable credits (must include Freshman Composition with a grade of C or better) at a regionally accredited college in the US
  •  All undergraduate international applicants who are citizens of AND have resided for the 2 years immediately prior to application for admission in the following countries:

British Virgin Island





Trinidad and Tobago




Canada (except Quebec)

Financial Documents

Submit the Certification of Finances Form

Submit a bank statement showing enough liquid funds to cover the total cost of attendance

  • You can send the bank statement electronically
  • The bank statement must be issued no later than 6 months prior to submission
  • The bank statement must be in the name(s) of your sponsor(s)

Copy of Passport

Submit a clear scan of the biographical page in your passport to


We recommend submitting the online application and all the supporting materials prior to these dates:

  • Fall semester start: 15th of July
  • Spring semester start: 1st of December

Applications received after that date will be considered, however, admission will depend on the amount of time available for visa processing.  


At UW Whitewater we value the diversity and unique experiences each international student brings to our campus. To help you achieve your dream of a degree from UW Whitewater we have several scholarship ranging from $200 to $6000 per year. those are awrded based on the evaluation GPA.
