Undergraduate Admissions
Requirements
Students may be considered for admission to UW-Whitewater if they:
- Certify that satisfactory financial resources are available to cover educational costs.
- Have completed secondary education consisting of a college preparatory program with an above average academic record.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Students are required to submit scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (minimum score paper based: 500, computer based: 173+, internet based: 61) or the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (minimum score 75). Application deadlines are November 15 for Spring Semester admission, and May 1 for Fall Semester admission.
- Transfer applicants must also send an official transcript from each college attended.
- For evaluation of transfer credit from colleges/universities attended outside of the United States, submit transcripts to Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc.
Application Form & Fee: Students should submit an application for admission, and an application fee of $35 in the form of an international money order or bank draft (U.S. dollars) made payable to UW-Whitewater is required. Your application for admission should be filed as early as possible. You will be notified about your admission within 30 days after your admission file is complete.

Students transferring from a college/university within the United States must submit the Domestic Transfer Clearance Form. For evaluation of transfer credit from colleges/universities attended outside of the United States, submit transcripts to Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc.

New freshmen are required to take a Math Placement Test before enrolling in any math course. Please inquire at the Office of International Education & Programs for time, date and location if you have not obtained an International Student Orientation schedule with this information on it.
English for International Students (680-161), 3 credits, are offered in the fall and spring semesters when enrollment is justified. This course is designed for International Students and substitutes for the basic studies English (608-101) course. It is taken as part of the regular course load. Students wishing to take a different English course may be required to take an English Placement Test.
International students will go through the registration process after their arrival during the mandatory International Student Orientation.
Undergraduate Admission: Undergraduate students may rent textbooks from the Textbook Rental Library located in the lower level of the University Bookstore.
