Germany
SUMMARY
This exchange is open to all majors. Wisconsin and the German State of Hessen have a sister-state relationship, which includes an exchange agreement between the UW-System and the nineteen institutions of higher education in Hessen. Most classes on the Hessen exchange are taught in German. UW-W applicants to this program must have taken four to six semesters of college-level German by the time they apply. Exchange students may choose to study at any of the Hessen institutions, if they have a high enough level of German language. German as a foreign language courses are only taught at Giessen and Kassel, as a minor, and at Marburg, as a major.
