SUMMARY
This exchange is for Business majors. This exchange is with Jönköping University’s International Business School (JIBS) School. At JIBS, students can choose from a variety of Business courses, as well as Swedish culture and language courses. Jönköping is located in southern Sweden within easy reach of other European cities. The campus fosters an international atmosphere with over two hundred international students out of a student body of 1,700. JIBS’ official vision is to become a pioneering, globally-renowned business school with genuine international activities.

ELIGIBILITY
Students must:
- have junior standing.
- have a 2.8 cumulative GPA at the time of application.
- be a Business major.
- have a clean disciplinary record.
- be back on the UW-W campus for at least one final semester prior to graduation.
APPLICATIONS, DATES AND DEADLINES
Academic year abroad: September – early June. UW-W application deadline is March 15.
Fall semester abroad: September – mid-January. UW-W application deadline is March 15.
Spring semester abroad: mid-January- early June. UW-W application deadline is October 15.

Students pay UW-Whitewater tuition while studying abroad through this program. The following is an approximate budget that can be used as a guide. ACCOMMODATIONS
Housing is coordinated through the host institution. Students generally live off campus in single-room flats with communal kitchens.
CISI INSURANCE
All students participating in any Wisconsin international education program are required by the State of Wisconsin to purchase international insurance from Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). CISI insurance costs $37 per 30-day period. CISI insurance charges will be billed to the student’s UW-W online student account.
PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS
Students will need a passport to study in Sweden. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the end of your program. The passport fee is approximately $100. Obtaining a passport can take two to three months. Passport applications are available in the Center for Gobal Education.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Students must have a residence permit to study in Sweden. The residence permit costs approximately $150 and takes two to three months to obtain. You are expected to pay an additional $20 in postage for the return of your passport with the permit affixed to it. Students are responsible for obtaining the permit. FINANCIAL AID/SCHOLARSHIPS
Qualified students may apply for a Wisconsin Study Abroad Grant (need-based) of up to $2,000. Applications are available from the Center for Global Education. To discuss having your financial aid applied to study abroad, schedule an appointment with the Financial Aid Office at 262.472.1130. All students are also encouraged to apply for college-specific scholarships. The Center for Global Education has additional information on grants and scholarships for study abroad.
