International Student ID Card (ISIC)

  • The International Student Identification Card (ISIC) is not required for your study abroad experience, but it is recommended for many areas of the world, especially in Europe.  Check out their coverage areas on their webage to see if the card will work for you.   • The ISIC card serves as an internationally identified ID card that is safer to carry than your passport, has some insurance coverage linked to it and is your pass to a wide variety of student discounts, like discounted airfare or museum entrance, while you are abroad.
  • The ISCI card can be purchased for $22 from the Center for Global Education or online at www.isic.org or www.statravel.com
  • The ISIC card also card provides minimal sickness and accident insurance coverage, but remember that  if you purchase the ISIC Card you are still required to purchase the mandatory CISI Insurance package.
