An Academic Internship is an internship experience for which a student earns academic credit. The work performed at the internship site must be directly related to the student's major. The internship position with an employer is secured by the student alone or with assistance from a faculty member. The student must have the position approved by his/her major department's faculty internship coordinator in order to register for the department's internship course. The student will often be required to complete additional educational assignments, such as research papers and work journals, and will receive some level of supervision from the faculty internship coordinator.
See the Academic Internship Directory to find internship course information and to identify the faculty internship coordinator for your major/minor.
