ABBREVIATED Job/Project Description
Society's Assets, Inc. is seeking Personal Care Worker interns to assist UW-Whitewater students with disabilities. A Personal Care Worker (PCW) intern is responsible for providing personal care services under the supervision of a Home Care Supervisor and a written "Care Plan" for consumers (i.e. UW-W students with disabilities) in their own homes to assist them in living independently. Paid training and orientation will be provided.

Fall through Spring Semester - Part-Time (flexible hours)
Start Date - September 22, 2008
PAID - $8.75/hour

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate competency of existing skills and/or capability to receive training on PCW Core Competencies.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job including moderate to heavy lifting, fine motor dexterity, rapid mental processing, visual discrimination, and ability to hear the spoken word.
• Patient, calm, and level-headed disposition.
• Kind, compassionate, and considerate nature.
• Motivated, reliable, honest, energetic, and positive attitude.
• Committed to providing quality care and willing to work as part of a team.
• Interest in assisting people who are living with disabilities.
• Not a legally responsible relative of the recipient of services.
• Have not been convicted of a crime directly related to the occupation of personal/health care services.
